The Adventures of Fat Yip

My journey to the healthy bod.

Day 2 – Breakfast

Let me start off my saying last night was a bit rough. I KNEW I was going to have issues of being hungry by 9-10pm by eating dinner so early around 6pm. I just kept on drinking water and keeping my mind busy. The hardest and worst part though was watching TV. I didn’t realize until now how many commercials there are for FOOD!!! I swear every other commercial was either the Taco Bell Triple Steak Stack or a new Marie Callender’s lasagna that you can microwave with NO BURNT EDGES! I ended up having to close my eyes and literally hum to myself by 10pm during every food commercial.

A side benefit I knew was going to happen was that I’d start sleeping earlier to avoid my evening hunger which means I would be waking up earlier and/or getting more sleep. My body was used to eating 2 slices of my favorite You Say Potato pizza from Escape from New York. Anyways I thought I was going to dream about food but I didn’t. I actually kind of had a stomach ache around 3am. I think it’s because my body isn’t used to eating so much spinach…like 4 cups of it a day…I was able to go back to sleep and woke up around 6:30am.

Today my breakfast was 1 whole hard boiled egg and 4 hard boiled egg whites. It was 3 whole eggs less than yesterday but still so hard to put down! I already cheated and had to dab a little of bit of salt on the egg whites. I realized that I would start by eating the whole eggs first then move on to the egg whites which isn’t a great idea. The whole eggs have the yoke which is like the BEST part. I’m going to have to eat tomorrow’s egg yoke sparingly with each of the 5 egg whites. I think that will make it much easier.

So far so good. Only 2 coworkers have taunted me with chocolate chip cookies. What a bunch of a-holes.

Day 1 – Dinner

I would post a pic of dinner but just look below at lunch. It’s the EXACT same thing only less sunlight off the counter top. Food still tasted pretty good and am fairly full. I also just cooked steak for both meals tomorrow and boiled hard boiled eggs for tomorrow morning as well.

Overall today was a bit different because I had a dentist appointment from 10am-1:30pm. In that regards, my breakfast was at 9am instead of 7:30am, my lunch was at 1:30pm instead of 12pm and my dinner was early at 6pm instead of around 7pm. Since I was able to work from home for the rest of the afternoon I was able to work out too. I headed over to the park across the street to hit the wall (lacrosse) for about an hour and then I did a couple hundred crunches and attempted to do some pull-ups. I actually looked up on my phone how to do a proper pull-up and I found an article that starts off by saying, “This should hopefully be obvious, but the more you weigh, the more you have to lift in order to complete a pull up.” This is from Nerd Fitness which was the first website displayed by Google. I kind of laughed and realize that I’ve always had a lot of trouble with pull-ups because I am pretty heavy for my height/size. When I happen to be by a pull-up bar with friends and everyone gets all full of testosterone and wants to see who can do the most pull-ups I usually defer and just say that I can squat way more than all of them. After getting a few pull-ups in before I felt like my shoulders were going to pop out of my sockets I went home to eat and to catch the Chargers game. I am a bit worried that I am going to be hungry around 9-10pm but maybe I”ll just be forced to go to bed earlier now too, especially because I can’t really go out to bars to have a drink.

So far so good. I don’t feel like I’m craving carbs yet but we’ll see how my body feels tomorrow.

Day 1 – Lunch

8oz Top Sirloin with 2 cups of spinach with olive oil. Pretty tasty and also quite filling. This will definitely give me the chance to get super good at making steaks! I also don’t usually eat this much spinach so maybe I’ll update you on that in a few hours. :p
