BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!!! (and also Day 10 Summary)

BREAKING NEWS…THIS JUST IN!!!

Mike has just emailed me with updates on my eating plan AND to let me know that I can EAT WHATEVER I WANT FOR THIS SATURDAY’S LUNCH!!! Here’s his email…

“you are going to eat clean until christmas. this weekend, I will allow
you to eat whatever you want for lunch on saturday. When I say
whatever you want, it’s like 1 burrito, not 3, or in n out and animal
style fries, not 10.

from tomorrow on, 6oz cuts on all of your meats, and cut out the whole
egg for bfast. I’m going to watch you drop a few more lbs and some
real bf. we’ll talk again before christmas”

So I get to “cheat” for one meal BUT now for breakfast I only get 4 egg whites instead of 4 egg whites + 1 full egg AND my top sirloin/salmon portions are dropped from 8oz per meal to 6oz. I already know what I’m going to eat on Saturday…

FAT YIP is making a re-appearance and it would be AWESOME to do this with some of you guys. I haven’t enjoyed a meal with friends in almost 2 weeks now! Day 10 – Basketball

Breakfast, Lunch, BASKETBALL, Dinner.

Yesterday I decided I was sick and bored of working out at the gym so I convinced a few friends to play basketball. There were only 4 of us but we had an epic 2 v 2 battle that lasted around 6-7 games. My team only won once, but I blame it on my energy level. I feel much stronger than I did 2 weeks ago, just always sore and more importantly my tank light has been on empty. I really feel that most of my reserve carbs have been used up to the point where the few hours immediately after eating a meal I feel INVINCIBLE!!! Then after that I feel like I got run over by a bullet train. Anyways, I would drive hard to the hoop and then have to rest for a few minutes before I could attack the rim again. It’s surely something to get used to. The other thing is that I do have a bad track record of spraining my ankle on the bball courts ESPECIALLY when I am tired or sore. Right now I’m both so I have to be careful.

 

Day 10 (12/14/11) – 170.2lb/14.7%

Making more progress!!! I haven’t been this light since my Freshman year of college which was like 7 years ago…

Day 9 – Bad Dream

Breakfast, Lunch, Workout, Dinner…BAD DREAM!

It was hard to really write last night about my day since nothing out of the ordinary happened…until I went to sleep!

In my dream, I am in a large Home Depot like store with my friend Marc, who works for a company that finances solar projects. He asks if I wanted to man his company’s booth. I then realized that I was at some kind of solar convention. I laughed about it with him and he said it wouldn’t be that hard but then he disappeared completely along with his company’s booth.

I was then left just outside of the turn-styles (this was a solar convention not Disneyland…why the heck are their turn-styles?) and saw that a lady was at a table selling bags of popcorn. I for some reason waited until she wasn’t looking and stole a bag of popcorn and rushed through the turn-style into the convention. Once I got inside I was about to reach into the bag and grab some popcorn when I noticed a few large boxes right when you enter. They were positioned waist level high, perfect to look down and grab stuff. Inside were two separated compartments of…IN N OUT FRIES and SWEET POTATO FRIES (I have no idea where from)!!! I obviously wanted to grab the IN N OUT fries but since I got to the convention late the only remaining stragglers were cold and gross so I went with the sweet potato fries. I put a big handful of them inside of my popcorn bag and continued walking.

I reached in my bag and grabbed the first fry and began lifting it towards my mouth. The instant the deliciousness touched my mouth I realized that I WAS STILL ON MY DIET!!! I didn’t know what to do but it was too late. I couldn’t stop eating the fry since it already touched my mouth. I couldn’t even stop after that first fry since it was just too good and kept eating everything saying to myself that the sweet potato fries were at least the “healthier choice” and plus this was only ONE MEAL that I messed up on. Anyways I felt SUPER GUILTY but said what’s done is done and continued walking through Target (the solar convention turned into a Target after I ate my first fry). Then I woke up after two teenage girls were contemplating between some item I don’t remember.

When I woke up, I still felt that guilt and realized that it was all just a dream and that I was still loyal to my eating plan (I would never cheat on a girl or on my food). I was shocked this was my first encounter with food in my dream in the last 10 days but then realized it was also my first dream that I remembered in probably a month. I knew my mind was trying to tell me something with this dream…I think it’s that one innocent fry (or some other food item) can lead to my demise. It’s all downhill after that first mistake. I know that I have to stay strong and focused. My will power is great but man I can make myself salivate in milliseconds just by saying “burrito” or “burger” (I’m not joking at all).

Day 9 – 171lb/14.6%

Haven’t really lost much weight in the last few days. I think it’s because I’m working out and lifting every day now and I’m probably gaining muscle mass. At least my body fat % has dropped fairly consistently!

Day 8 – Easy Smeasy

Monday was easy smeasy. I’m not saying I’m not low on energy (sorry I hate sentences with double negatives but it just made the most sense) but more so I’m getting USED to that level of energy. Essentially my body has adapted to the low amount of calories and carbs I’m getting now compared to before. Compared to before, yes, I feel tired but compared to the last few days, I feel GREAT!

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner all typical. Was too hungry to work out before eating dinner when I got home from work so I decided to work out after dinner. Ran to 24 in North Beach and lifted hard and did TONS of abs (I promise I’ll show before and after pics when this is all said and done :p). Was running low on food so stopped at the Safeway afterwards to load up for next week. Grocery shopping cannot get any easier. Bought 2lb of salmon, 3 lb of top sirloin, 2 dz organic eggs, 2 organic avocados, and 1 batch of organic broccoli. I felt so healthy walking to the checkout counter. Everyone gave me weird looks but I think they knew I was on some kind of diet.

I sent Mike my most up to date meal schedule with calorie counts. He said he’d look it over and probably make some changes to it. I think he’s going to LOWER my calorie intake even more by reducing my 8oz of meat to 6oz but I’m not 100% sure. I’ll just have to sit back and wait for his email. Anyways here’s my daily meal plan I’ve been following since last Monday 12/5.

Right now eating lunch and watching Once Upon a Time at my desk.
